The CWNP™ Program is
the industry standard for vendor-neutral wireless LAN training and wireless
LAN certification. The CWNP certification series focuses solely on wireless
LAN knowledge from beginner to expert to make sure you have the necessary
skills to properly implement and maintain wireless LANs. The people that
create the study materials and exams are senior level engineers that hold
the industry's most esteemed certifications.
Certifications within the
Networking Engineering and Design career path show expertise for
design professionals who work with traditional Cisco technology-based
networks where LAN and WAN routers and LAN switches predominate. This area
includes: network design, configuration, and installation; configuration
techniques that increase bandwidth, improve response times, and enhance
reliability and quality of service (QoS); configuration techniques that
maximize performance and improve network security; global intranet design
and configuration; and application-oriented solutions. The CCDP
certification indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of network design.
With a CCDP, a network professional can design routed and switched networks
involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services, applying modular design
practices and making sure the whole solution responds optimally to the
business and technical needs and is designed to be highly available.
The
CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced
or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can
install, configure, and troubleshoot large local and wide area networks for
enterprise organizations. The content emphasizes topics such as
security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private
networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.
The
Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world’s leading not-for-profit
project management professional association, with over 100,000 members
worldwide. PMI provides project managers a wealth of tools, resources
and assistance in furthering the science of Project Management and to help
make the Project Manager and their project successful. AMI has been a member
of PMI since 1995 and continues to utilize its methodologies from the PMBOK
guide and monthly periodicals.
The
Certified Network Expert (CNX) exam was originally released in 1992 and
became a recognized standard in the protocol analysis industry. In 1992
Network General Corporation, parent of Sniffer® University, initiated and
sponsored the original CNX Certification exams. As the result of open
meetings held at Networld and Comnet that year, the founding members of the
CNX Consortium came together to promote CNX certification. These companies
included Network General (Sniffer University), Hewlett Packard, and Wandel &
Goltermann. Over the next few years there were varying degrees of interest
from other vendors and the consortium saw involvement from Cisco and the IBM
TSS division. AG Group, Microtest, and Optimized Engineering Corporation
also joined the CNX Consortium during this time. Tthe CNX Program has now
been grandfathered into Sniffer University's Sniffered Certified Expert
program. Sniffer Technologies and Sniffer University continues to honor CNX
certified professionals.
What are the
benefits of this certification? Becoming a Pine Mountain Group Certified NetAnalyst is moving
beyond the crowd. The required examination series is a challenge that tests
hands-on knowledge of standards-based cross-technology network analysis
theory and diagnostic principles. This is a broad range of expertise that
product specific, installation-based certification programs don't demand of
you. Achieving Certified NetAnalyst recognition is more than just a
demonstration of your ability to operate your equipment. It shows that you
can logically dissect a wide variety of "real world" network problems and
obtain results that minimize downtime on your network.
Oracle
Certified Masters are senior level members of IT departments and are
responsible for handling mission critical database systems and applications.
AMI applies its knowledge of Oracle based servers and SQL when
troubleshooting application or networking issues or performing an
application impact analysis that uses an Oracle based solution in the back
or front end.
Novell's CNE training
gives you a wide variety of network support skills that allow you to keep
your company's network running efficiently - with less downtime. As a CNE,
you solve advanced company-wide support problems and high-level network
problems. You perform planning, installation, configuration,
troubleshooting, and upgrade services for networks.
AMI holds many certifications from IBM products and
technologies. AMI also uses IBM server technology in its lab. AMI has many
years of accumulated IBM technology experience from Legacy OS/2, LAN Support
and Token-Ring products. AMI has working relationships with IBM on various
projects in the past and continues to work with IBM and its solutions in the
future.
What would a
technology company be without mentioning an industry veteran in technology
journalism and information publication. Byte Magazine and now Byte Online is
still a valuable and treasured source of technology trends and information
